PURCHASING & PLANNING MANAGER
Job Description:
- Lead and oversee a team of material planners and buyers in the acquisition of materials.
- Manage the Materials team, which includes Purchasing and Planning functions for both the PCBA, Cables and Equipment divisions.
- Ensure the efficient operation of the Materials team by adhering to established guidelines and achieve KPIs.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure efficient delivery performance.
- Procure materials at competitive prices while minimizing disruptions in the supply chain and managing inventory to prevent excess and obsolescence.
- Establish an efficient purchasing system to source materials based on customers’ Approved Vendor List (AVL) and specifications.
- Implement periodic cost reduction programs for both direct and indirect material costs to enhance margins.
- Maintain ethical standards and integrity within the purchasing department.
- Collaborate with plant teams to plan production schedules that meet customer demands.
- Follow up on delivery and discrepancy with supplier & internal.
- Ensure compliance with quality policies, practices, and audit requirements while managing risk.
- Mentor and coach team members provide guidance & support in career development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify potential risks and opportunities in the procurement process
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in this field. Demonstrate a strong foundation in procurement and supply chain management.
- Knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory management, and market dynamics
- Experience with SAP and Microsoft Excel would be an advantage.
- Demonstrates expertise in effectively negotiating contracts with suppliers.
- Well-acquainted with the electronics, mechanical, and electro-mechanical industries, and the suppliers within these domains.
- An adept leader with exceptional communication abilities, capable of guiding and inspiring a team.
